Sydney Laneway Wanderings
This piece is from my urbanscape series which captures the energetic essence of daily morning walks throughout a city that I love. It forms a matrix of my journey, unveiling hidden laneways, evoking childhood memories through observation of faded painted signs on walls, and inviting exploration of intriguing doors, shop promenades, signage and numbers. This narrative-like matrix is enriched by incorporating old newspaper clippings and other mementos like a Haigh's chocolate shop wrapper or the like. The aim is to evoke nostalgia, spark conversations, and invite viewers to immerse themselves in the journey of memories.
