My paintings are derived from various source materials such as small plein-air oil paintings, sketches and photographs render light, capture atmosphere and mood. I employ a rigorous process of creating, destroying, concealing, and revealing formal painting elements such as line, colour, tone, texture, edges and shape. Back streets of Inner city interests me where things just ARE, instead of presented. In these streets, Objects found in ready made settings provides conversations and their history which says a lot about our ways of living.
