Rewild 5
This painting emerged from sketches of gardens and parks where the land has been long left untended. I am attracted by the forms and spaces, the chaotic sense of freedom and the range of plants that emerge. I am one of many Australians who were not born in Australia. I find endless inspiration in the wildness, grandeur and diversity of the Australian landscape and my identity as an Australian is firmly connected with the unique plants and light that I experience. I spend time outdoors working plein air and paint finished works in my studio.
