My paintings begin as small-scale playful drawings. They are often initiated by a thought on something that’s happening around me, something I’ve seen in my daily wonderings or from a feeling or memory. My works are riffs on random ideas and playful thinking, responding to the complicated and hectic world we are living in. Colourful contemplations on the complexities of self and our connections to the spaces we inhabit. I’m interested in ideas around how, as humans , we find meaning and happiness within our day to day in an ever changing contemporary society , exploring the dichotomy between perceived and embodied true selves.
