Lee Trewartha is a Victorian artist working in oils, drawing, and assemblage. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Masters) and PhD (pending), Lee has been a finalist in major Australian prizes including the Blake Prize, John Coburn Prize, and Tattersalls Landscape Prize. She has received the National Gallery of Victoria Trustees Award, international scholarships, and postgraduate awards. Her work, once large-scaled Neo-Baroque pieces, shifted due to reduced mobility to intimate landscapes. Her piece What are Men Compared to Rock and Mountain reflects life’s transience, contrasting human fragility with the enduring strength of the natural world, which has become a personal lifescape for Lee.
