Ghost Gum on a bore water dam

120 x 90 cm

Oil on canvas

At the foot of the mountains above Mulgoa there is a little property that backs onto the National Park. After a few drawings and water colour studies of the ensemble of wild trees, courage was mustered to attempt a larger canvass. The wildness of the scraggy bushland could be anchored by a central ghost gum. Fun was had diving into the reflections cast on the dam where brush strokes and mark making, (some more successful then others) helped loosen up the picture.
