From my Urbanscape series, this piece captures the joyful, light-filled interior of Bills Cafe, Darlinghurst – Bill Granger’s first culinary venture. I aimed to convey the welcoming atmosphere of this iconic space, highlighting the central table, always adorned with vibrant flowers and laden bowls of fruit. The great selection of art & interior design magazines on display, along with artworks on the wall, speaks to the cafe’s relaxed charm, inviting patrons to linger over coffee, cake, or one of Bill’s signature dishes. Bill’s legacy of relaxed food establishments continues to thrive, with many windows often featuring bright sunny decals in his memory.
